That Saturday my sourdough starter went full alien on me
I walked into my kitchen last Saturday and found my starter had pushed the lid off the jar and was crawling down the counter like something from a horror movie. Has anyone else had a starter get that aggressive on a warm day or did I accidentally create a mutant?

Yeah mine did that once when it was really warm in the kitchen. I just scraped it back into a bigger jar and stuck it in the fridge for a day, that calmed it right down.

Oh man, that is seriously wild! I've had my starter do a slow ooze before but nothing like crawling down the counter. It's funny though, because I feel like this kind of over-the-top behavior shows up everywhere. Like when you leave a bag of potatoes too long and they start sprouting tentacles, or that one houseplant that suddenly takes over your whole windowsill. Life just has this way of going from zero to dramatic real fast, especially when you least expect it. Makes you realize most things have a mind of their own once they get going.
