Steam burns left a mark I won't forget in my home kitchen

Honestly, I was pulling a 9 pound sourdough loaf out of my Dutch oven last Tuesday and the lid dripped condensation straight down my forearm, took me a second to realize how bad it was. I ran it under cold water for 15 minutes but the blister came up anyway, has anyone else had steam sneak up on them like that and how do you handle the cleanup after that panic?
