Serious question, did anyone else used to think going to the movies alone was just for weirdos?

I used to honestly believe that if you went to a theater by yourself you were some kind of antisocial loner. Then my buddy bailed on me for the new Dune in October and I went solo to the AMC in downtown Denver. Three hours of total peace, no one asking questions, and I actually followed the plot way better. Has anyone else had that shift where something you judged turned out to be totally fine?
