Dropped $180 on a used bread machine in April and it fixed my whole breakfast thing
I used to think bread machines were for people who already had their life together. Back in April I saw one at a garage sale in my neighborhood for $180 and my gut said skip it, way too much for a used appliance. I bought it anyway after the lady let me plug it in and smell the inside, which sounds weird but it smelled like cinnamon and not like old basement. First loaf came out like a brick because I used cold water straight from the tap, but once I switched to warm water it started working. Now I make a loaf every Sunday night for maybe 90 cents of flour and yeast, and my kids actually eat sandwiches again instead of tossing the crusts. I did the math last week and I have saved about $60 a month compared to the bakery stuff I was buying before. My only regret is I waited two years of hand kneading and messy counters before doing this. Has anyone else had a cheap used appliance actually pan out like this, or did I just get lucky with this one?
Did you plug it in at the sale though? Thats how I ended up with a $15 blender that still works 6 years later, lady let me test it with a smoothie and everything. Garage sales are lowkey the best place to gamble on appliances lol.
