Defending Waterworld: the floaty dead guy at the end makes total sense
Everyone hates on the scene where the Mariner finds the old guy floating face down in the lagoon, but I think it's one of the most honest moments in the movie. I was watching it with my buddy last Saturday and he laughed out loud when it happened, but I pointed out that in a world flooded for generations, finding a corpse in the water is just regular Tuesday. Has anyone else actually sat through the whole cut and noticed how the survival logic holds up way better than people admit?
