The year my aunt gave me a singing fish plaque that still haunts my dreams
She spent $40 on this mounted fish that belts out "Don't Worry, Be Happy" every time someone walks past it, and honestly I'd rather have gotten nothing. Has anyone else gotten a gift that just keeps on giving in the worst way possible?

Your aunt definitely wanted to make sure you never forget that gift. A singing fish is a whole new level of passive aggressive haunting. Was there a specific reason she picked the most annoying song ever?

Passive aggressive haunting" lmao that's the perfect way to put it. Honestly I wonder if your aunt even thought about how often that thing would go off or if she just saw it in a catalog and thought "this is the one." Did she ever mention it again at family gatherings like "so is Billy still enjoying his fish?" or did she pretend it never happened after the gift exchange. The second option would be even more suspicious tbh because that means she knew exactly what she was doing. You think she ever kept a mental tally of how many times you had to listen to "Don't Worry Be Happy" before you finally snapped and threw it out?
