My aunt gave me a gift card for a store that closed 2 years ago and it took me 6 weeks to get the $25 back
I got a $25 gift card to a store called Hastings for my birthday from my aunt Linda. Problem is Hastings went out of business back in 2016. She bought it at a garage sale in Amarillo thinking she got a deal. I spent 3 weekends calling the number on the back and emailing their old support address. Then I tried the bank that issued it, and they said I needed the original receipt. I finally got a check for $25 after 6 weeks and about 14 phone calls. Has anyone else had a relative give them a dead gift card and did you just toss it or fight for the cash?
