Why does nobody talk about how a $12 board game night beats a $$$ dinner date
Took a girl to a fancy spot in Austin last month, dropped $180, and we sat there making small talk over loud music, but the next week we played a $12 card game at my kitchen table for three hours and actually learned stuff about each other, so I stopped doing dinner dates and honestly they have all been better since, has anyone else made that switch or is it just me?
Dinner dates have their place and you are throwing out a good thing because of one bad night. A loud restaurant with someone you just met is a bad setup, sure, but a quiet dinner where you actually talk can be just as real as cards at your table. Maybe pick better spots instead of dropping the whole idea.
