A bartender in Reno told me I ask way too many questions on dates, and I fought her on it for a month
She said I grill people like a job interview, question after question, and never give anything back. I counted on my next 3 dates and hit 40 questions in an hour. So now I answer first and let them steer. Anyone else get called out for this?

The trick is to actually answer your own questions too, not just stop asking them. Like if you ask her about her job, follow up with why you picked yours or what you hate about it. Then she gets a turn to ask you something back without you having to force it. I started doing the "answer first" thing too and it works but you still gotta give them hooks to grab onto. Otherwise you're just sitting there like a wall with a smile.
