Paid $140 for a 'guided' route map that was just a printout of Wikipedia
Last month I bought this digital pack for the John Muir Trail from some influencer's site. It promised water sources, campsite GPS, and secret tips. Turned out it was a 12-page PDF with public info I could've got from the PCT forums for free. The water source list was wrong too, I carried 2 extra liters for a dry stretch that had a creek right off trail. Has anyone else blown money on these paid route packs, or is there a legit one that's actually worth it?

Honestly that sounds like a total scam, but like, did you really expect magic from a PDF?
