Overheard my aunt say she uses the same gravy from Thanksgiving for Christmas dinner
I was at my cousin's house last weekend helping set up for a party and heard my aunt say she freezes leftover gravy from Thanksgiving to reuse at Christmas. It made me think about how my family stresses over making everything fresh for every single holiday while other families just plan ahead. Has anyone else found a family shortcut that actually works?

Honestly, my grandma has been doing this since before I was born and it's honestly the smartest thing ever. She labels the jars with a Sharpie and everything, "Thanksgiving 2021" etc. I actually think people who make everything from scratch every single time are just wasting money and time for no real payoff. The gravy tastes the exact same after being frozen for a month, it's not like it goes bad or something. Seriously, if your family is stressing over fresh gravy for Christmas while my grandma is just reheating hers, I know which house I'd rather be at.

Right?? I've been telling people this for years. My mom freezes her turkey drippings in ice cube trays and they're literally better than anything you can make fresh on a random Tuesday. It saves so much stress and the taste difference is basically zero, people just like to act fancy about food for no reason.

Used to be a total gravy snob honestly... thought freezing it was kinda gross. But then I tried my friend's frozen gravy from months ago and it was literally fine. Totally changed my mind.
