TIL that torque stripe on cannon plugs is not just for looks, watched a guy in Tulsa trace an intermittent for 3 days
He kept chasing the pin with a meter and it passed every time, but the stripe on the backshell was cracked from vibration and the shell was backing off in flight. Are you guys actually re-torquing to spec or just snugging them by feel like I used to?
Ever watch a guy spend half a shift chasing a ground fault that turned out to be a loose cannon plug he swore he checked twice? Had one on a 737 that only acted up when it was cold soaked overnight, turned out the backshell was hand tight and the pins were walking just enough to break contact. Torque wrench lives in the go bag now, every plug gets the book value, no more guessing by feel.
