My lead told me to check the 28 volt bus first, and he saved me a whole day of work.

I was stuck on a Cessna 172 with a dead nav display, pulling my hair out after two hours. The new guy, Jake, said he saw a similar thing once and to look at the 28 volt bus bar behind the panel. Sure enough, a single loose nut had backed off just enough to drop the voltage. Tightened it up, and the whole system came back online in five minutes. Anyone else have a simple fix that saved them from a deep rabbit hole?

Man, that "staring at a dead box, your brain going in circles" feeling is the worst. Been there so many times. It's like you're blind to the obvious answer because you're already down the rabbit hole. Those simple fixes are a total lifesaver, even if they make you feel a little dumb after. Gotta love when someone throws out a random tip that just clicks.

Know that exact feeling of staring at a dead box, your brain going in circles. It's the best and worst feeling when the fix is something so stupid simple, right? You're mad it took so long but so glad you found it before the real digging started. Those little wins from a fresh pair of eyes (or a good lead) are what keep you sane some days.

Yeah, the solution is always the last thing you check. Classic.
