Swivel joint extractor vs traditional slide hammer on rusty ball joints?

I was reading through some TSBs last night and found out Ford says the proper torque on lower ball joint nuts for F-150s is actually 148 ft-lbs, not the 120 I've been doing for years. I've been using a slide hammer and pickle fork setup for ball joints since I started, but one of the old timers at the parts counter swears by those swivel joint press adapters. Has anyone actually compared time and success rates between those two methods on rust belt trucks?

Man that torque spec thing reminds me of the time I snapped a bolt clean off a Chevy and blamed the torque wrench for a week.

Switched to a beam torque wrench after that, never looked back lol
