My $400 paint job came out with crow's feet because I sprayed too cold in the bay
Blew a fender respray on a 2016 Civic last Thursday and I'm still mad about it. Base went down fine, but I shot the clear at about 58 degrees in my bay because the heater was on the fritz, and it wrinkled up like a raisin before I even pulled the tape. Tried wet sanding it out with 1500 and buffing, but the solvent pop was too deep, so I ended up blocking the whole panel back down to primer. Cost me a full day, about $85 in materials, and the customer is picking it up Friday so I'm rushing a redo. I know the data sheet says 65 minimum, I just figured I could get away with it one time. Lesson learned the hard way, keep the bay at temp before you mix. What do you all run for a minimum temp on clear this time of year?
