PSA: I asked a client a 'dumb' question about their thermostat and it saved the call.

I was at a house in Boise yesterday for a no-cool complaint, checked everything, and finally just asked if they'd changed any settings recently (which felt obvious, you know?). Turns out they'd accidentally set a vacation hold for 90 degrees thinking it was the date. Has anyone else had a simple question uncover something totally unexpected like that?

Always check the schedule first, it saves so much time. People mess with those settings way more than you'd think. That vacation hold gets everyone.

Wait, what schedule are we talking about here? I thought this was about the thermostat.
