Found a way to fix my squeaky dryer for $4 after two repair guys quoted me $220
My dryer started squealing like a dying animal about 3 weeks ago, and the first guy in town here in Springfield quoted me $180 for the parts and labor. Second guy wanted $220 and said I might as well just get a new one since mine is 11 years old. Out of frustration I typed the model number into YouTube and found a 6 minute video showing it was just worn drum rollers. A $4 kit from the hardware store on Main Street and about 45 minutes of work later, the squeak is completely gone. Has anyone else had a repair guy try to talk them into replacing an appliance over something this small? I feel like I got lucky but also kind of mad about it.
