A guy at the Tempe mixer told me my $2000 booth was pointless and honestly he might be right
Went to a networking event in Tempe last Thursday and got paired with a guy who runs a small landscaping company. He said he stopped paying for booths and printed flyers 2 years ago and just does coffee with 3 people a week instead. I ran the numbers on my own spending and I dropped around $2400 on events and booths in 2024 with almost nothing to show for it. Now I'm wondering if I should scrap the whole booth thing and just do small meetups. Has anyone here switched to one on ones and actually seen it pay off?
Have you actually tried the coffee thing yet or are you still deciding? I used to be all in on booths and trade shows, dropped close to $3k one year and got maybe two lukewarm leads out of it. Then I started doing one on one coffee meets, like 2 or 3 a week, and closed more in 3 months than I did the whole year before. It feels slower at first but the people actually remember you when it's just two folks talking.
