Unpopular opinion: A customer complaint about my service call notes made me change my whole system

A client in Phoenix said my repair notes were 'too technical and confusing' after I left them a detailed list of parts I swapped in their washer. I switched to writing two sets of notes now, one for my records with model numbers and one simple sheet for the customer with just the fix and care tips. Do you guys keep separate customer-facing paperwork or just give them the work order copy?

Oh man, my buddy had the same thing happen. He's a mechanic and @kim191 is right, it's a desert brain thing. He started drawing little pictures on the customer copy, like a happy car.

Little doodles on the invoice is such a great idea... might steal that for my shop honestly. Customers really do appreciate that tiny bit of extra effort when you're all half-melted from the heat. Had a lady frame my little sketch of a happy golden retriever once, made my whole week.

Lol of course they complained in Phoenix. It's so hot there the manuals probably melt before they can read them. Good call on the simple version though.
