I thought those cheap multimeter test leads were a waste of money
I bought a set for about $12 online last year just to have some spares. For months I kept using my old, stiff ones because I figured the new ones would break. Finally tried them on a tricky dryer motor check and the thin, flexible wires made it way easier to get into a tight spot. The back probe tips actually held up better than I expected. Has anyone else given the budget tool accessories a real shot and been surprised?

Totally. The real problem is the brand name leads got lazy. They're selling the same old stiff junk for thirty bucks because they can. The cheap ones had to actually be good to get anyone to buy them. My ten dollar set outlasted my old Fluke leads by a year.

Yeah, the part about the back probe tips holding up is so real. I mean, I had the same exact worry that they'd just snap or something. But I've been using a cheap set for my car stuff for like two years now, and they're honestly fine. It's one of those things you just assume will be junk because of the price. Maybe it's just me but I feel like a lot of the basic tool stuff has gotten way better than it used to be.

Respectfully disagree because I had the exact opposite experience. My cheap set literally melted a bit when I touched it to a live wire by accident, so I'll stick with my old Fluke leads even if they are stiff.
