Took me 4 hours to figure out why my anime downloads kept failing

I was trying to grab the whole first season of Odd Taxi from a fansub group and kept getting CRC errors halfway through. Turned out my external hard drive was formatted as FAT32 and the files were over 4GB each. Spent way too long reinstalling torrent clients before I checked the obvious thing. Has anyone else run into weird file size limits messing up their collection?

Relates to how everything is slowly getting bigger but the old systems can't keep up. Same thing happens with my dash cam - records in 10 minute chunks but if I don't clear the card every week the new clips won't save.

Oh, I don't know about that. A dash cam is just a dash cam. You set it, it records, you move on. I think people make too big a deal out of these little hiccups. My old SD card in my camera lasted three years before I even had to think about clearing it, and that was only because I filled it up on a road trip. Most of these things work fine if you just set them up right the first time.
