Showerthought: The 'best anime of all time' debate feels completely different now than it did three years ago.

Back then, my local anime club in Austin would just list titles, but last week I saw a whole thread dissecting what 'best' even means for a show. Has anyone else noticed the conversation getting more meta?

People are really writing essays about cartoon rankings now? It's just a fun list, not a philosophy paper. The whole point is to argue about cool fights and good stories, not the meaning of the word "best." Maybe we all just need to go outside more.

Remember my buddy who got into a three hour text fight over the best anime tournament arc? He missed his own sister's birthday dinner over it. That's the fun part, cameronmurray, getting way too into it. The essays are just people having that same dumb passion, but writing it down. Sure, going outside is good, but so is caring way too much about cartoons sometimes.
