Just realized I was watching anime all wrong for years
I always tried to keep up with seasonal shows as they aired, but I'd forget plot points between weeks and end up dropping them. Last month, I decided to just wait for a full season of 'Frieren' to finish and then binge it over a weekend. It was way more engaging and I actually finished it, which is rare for me. Has anyone else found that switching from weekly to binge-watching made a specific show click for them?

Disagree completely, binging ruins the experience. You miss the weekly anticipation and community discussion that builds up. Letting a story breathe between episodes is part of the art.

Yeah, because nothing says art like waiting seven days to maybe remember what happened last time. I guess I'm just not cultured enough to enjoy forgetting plot points between episodes. The weekly "community discussion" is mostly just people fighting about spoilers or making the same meme for a month straight. Letting a story breathe is one thing, but letting it go stale is another. Give me the whole thing and let me decide my own pace.

Wait, you actually finished a show? That's wild. @benc53 is talking about letting a story breathe, but I can't even remember what I watched last Tuesday.
