Had to pick between finishing a show or joining a live watch party last night
My friends were all getting together on Discord to watch the new episode of that isekai with the slime, but I was only halfway through the previous season. I chose to finish my own watch first, even though I felt left out. Now I'm two seasons behind them and they keep dropping spoilers in the group chat. How do you guys handle being on different watch schedules with friends?

That slime show is a spoiler minefield, good luck. My watch schedule is so far behind my friends they think I'm doing a historical study. Mute the group chat, it's the only way. Catching up feels like homework now but you gotta power through.

Oh man, you're not wrong. My friends treat me like a museum exhibit because I'm three seasons behind. I've started calling my catch-up sessions "archival research" just to lean into it. The group chat is basically a spoiler bomb with a read receipt at this point. Honestly, powering through does feel like a second job, but without the pay.

Archival research is a great name for it. The read receipt thing is the worst part, makes you feel like you're on the clock. Muting the chat helps, but it also cuts you off from the jokes. It turns a fun show into a chore you have to finish.
