Oh man, I feel this. My old TV would only work if you gave the side a good solid whack. Same with my car's glove box that used to stick shut. Sometimes you just have to convince the machine who's boss with a well-placed thump. It's a weirdly reliable fix.

Convincing the machine who's boss" is the official first step in any repair manual. It's basically a diagnostic tool to see if the problem is serious or if it just needs an attitude adjustment. After that, you can decide if you actually need a screwdriver.
