At my shop, new hires barely touch wrenches anymore.

Everything's going digital, and I'm not sure it's good.

At the local community college, their auto program shut down last year due to low interest. It's SCARY how fast these skills are disappearing. We're setting ourselves up for a real mess if the power goes out.

Yeah, it's spreading to everything. Go to a store and it's all self-checkout, no cashiers. Even fixing things at home, people just order a new part online instead of repairing it. My neighbor didn't know how to change a tire, just called for help. The hands-on stuff is fading out, and it makes you wonder what happens when the digital stuff fails.

See this trend everywhere, @xena_brown50. Basic life skills are going away because we rely on tech for everything. My cousin needed a video just to boil an egg. When systems fail, we'll see how stuck we are.
