Vent: I keep seeing people overcrowd the basket for frozen fries

In my experience, a single layer cooks them way crispier, but my roommate insists on filling it up and wonders why they're soggy. Anyone have a good method for convincing a stubborn kitchen-sharer?

Honestly I was on the other side of this for YEARS, but then I had some truly soggy tots and it all made sense.

Oh man, my buddy had this same fight with his girlfriend... he kept showing her how the fries in the middle of the pile were always pale and limp, like they steamed instead of cooked. He finally made two batches side by side, one single layer and one full basket. The difference was crazy, the full ones were basically mush. She couldn't argue after that.
