Burned about $500 on a 'no-code' AI training platform that promised to build a custom model but just gave me a glorified chatbot.
Has anyone found a better way to actually train a small, specific model without needing a full data science team?

Ugh, those platforms often just fine-tune a base model, not build from scratch.

Actually, building a full model from scratch is crazy expensive and needs a huge team. Most companies, even big ones, start with something like Llama or Mistral and then tweak it with their own data. It's just how the whole field works right now.
