My barber in Fresno introduced me to a marketing agency owner and now we split 6 clients
Three years ago I was just cutting hair at a shop on Blackstone Ave and one of my regulars kept talking about how his ad agency needed help with video for local spots. I didn't know anything about partnerships back then (I just thought agencies were for big companies with budgets). We grabbed coffee at the spot next door and worked out a simple deal: I shoot and edit 2 videos a month for his clients, he sends me anyone who needs promo content, and we split the fee 50/50. It started with one dentist office and now we're at 6 steady clients and I had to hire my cousin just to keep up. Has anyone else built a referral thing like this with an agency, and how do you handle it when the split starts feeling uneven?
