34 partners under one roof in Phoenix, and not one signed after the pitch
We hit 34 agency partners for a client launch event in Phoenix last month, which felt like a huge win on paper. But the numbers on our lead sheet scared me more than the empty seats in the back row. Out of those 34, zero signed anything during or after the pitch, not even a follow-up meeting request. The real issue was we treated every partner the same, one generic deck, one room, no one wanting to be put on the spot in front of competitors. Two partners told us afterwards they liked the idea but felt like part of a crowd, not part of a conversation. We lost a whole quarter of potential pipeline because we chased volume instead of fit. Has anyone else hit a big attendance number that turned out to be completely hollow, and how do you vet partners before you let them into the room?
