TIL that stashing my work gear out of sight after clocking out really helps
I kept my work laptop on the couch where I could always see it. This made me feel like I was still on call even at home. So I started tucking it into a bag and leaving it by the door. That small act tells my brain the day is done. Now I can actually unwind without thinking about tomorrow's tasks.

Man, that is such a real trick. It's crazy how much our brains tie tasks to where we see the stuff. I do the same thing with my gym clothes, if they're in a pile I feel lazy, but in the drawer I forget about them. Putting work things away is like a signal, it tells your mind the job is closed for the day. We gotta trick ourselves into relaxing sometimes, you know? Like how some people keep a notepad by the bed to dump thoughts so they stop spinning.

Yeah it works with browser tabs too. Leave too many open and your brain treats them like a to-do list, even if they're just random articles. Closing them feels like clearing a physical desk.

Read about this thing called visual clutter messing with your head? It's like your brain keeps processing everything in sight. So putting things away cuts down on that mental load. Makes closing browser tabs or hiding gym clothes a real relief. We're just hacking our own brains to chill out.
