The day I stopped buying 30-packs of toilet paper from the warehouse store...
I used to buy the big bulk pack every single time. Figured it was just smarter, you know... more for less. Then one day I'm moving this giant 48-roll pack down three flights of stairs in my old building in Austin, and it slipped. Rolled all the way down, busted open, paper everywhere. Neighbors were stepping on it, dogs were dragging it around. I stood there thinking... this is not efficiency. This is chaos. Now I just grab a 12-pack from the corner store whenever I'm down to 3 rolls. Costs a little more per sheet but I'm not wrestling a cardboard monster every month. Has anyone else had a bulk buying moment that backfired bad?

Oh man, that's a rough visual... but I gotta point out that 48-roll pack isn't really "bulk" compared to what some people buy. My uncle once got a 96-roll from Sam's Club and stored it in his garage closet, then a pipe burst and soaked half of them. He had to toss like 40 rolls of wet cardboard mush... definitely not the money saver he thought it was.

You're comparing it to your uncle's 96-roll monster, but for someone living alone or even a couple, that's still a huge supply. Not everyone has a garage or extra closet to dedicate to paper products. And honestly, the whole point of bulk buying is to reduce trips and save money, but 48 rolls already gets you past that point for most households unless you have a big family. Your uncle's story is a perfect example of why going bigger isn't always smarter. Sometimes the "smart" amount is just what you can actually use and store without chaos.
