The $60 tax software mistake that cost me a whole Sunday
I waited until April 14th to do my taxes, which was dumb, but I figured the software would walk me through it. Turned out my side gig income from selling used furniture counted as self-employment, and I had no clue about quarterly estimates until the program flagged me. Three hours of YouTube videos and a call to my sister's accountant later, I got it sorted, but I paid a $60 late fee for something I could have handled back in February. Does anyone else discover new tax rules the hard way every single year, or is it just me?

Honestly though, a $60 fee Sounds pretty cheap for a lesson you'll remember next year.
