My bank account looked totally different after I started tracking every single dollar for 90 days
I wrote down every coffee, gas fill, and grocery run in a little notebook. Seeing the $237 a month I was spending on lunch out made me pack my own. Has anyone else tried this kind of money tracking and actually stuck with it?

Yeah, that $237 on lunch out is a real eye opener. I switched to a basic app on my phone instead of the notebook, because I'd forget to write stuff down. Seeing the weekly total for dumb stuff like convenience store snacks forced me to buy those in bulk instead. It hurts for the first month, but then you just build better habits without thinking about it.

Two hundred thirty seven dollars just on lunch out, that's a whole car payment. Honestly I would have guessed maybe a hundred.

What app did you switch to? I tried a couple but they wanted way too much detail. One wanted me to take photos of every receipt, which just made me stop tracking entirely. A basic list seems better, but then I forget categories.
