Drinking fountain at the DMV made me rethink my whole water bottle habit
Last Tuesday in the Newark DMV, the fountain sounded like a dying cat and spat brown water, so I drove 20 minutes to a gas station for a $2.79 bottle, and now I keep a case in my trunk, but has anyone else found themselves paying for water just to avoid a gross public fountain?

That brown water at the Newark DMV fountain is exactly the kind of thing that makes you wonder what's in the pipes feeding it, and the dying cat noise means the pump or aerator is shot, which usually means nobody's cleaned it in months. If a public fountain tastes or looks off, is it really worth gambling on your stomach to save $2.79? Once you've seen water come out that color, keeping a case in the trunk stops feeling silly and starts feeling like common sense.
