Tried spray foam vs foam board in my crawl space - clear winner emerged

I had a drafty crawl space that was making my living room floor cold every morning. Spent $80 on the two-part spray foam kit from the hardware store for the rim joists. The foam board was way easier to cut and fit between the floor joists though, and it cost me about $30 less. Between the two, I think the foam board gave me better coverage for the money and my floors feel warmer now. Has anyone else mixed methods like that or found a better approach for abq crawl spaces?

$80 for a spray foam kit is a lot if you ask me. Is it really making that much difference on your floor temp or is it just in your head?

Honestly, mixing methods like that makes total sense. I tried something similar a few years back and the combo work ended up being way better than doing just one thing. The spray foam is great for sealing up those tricky gaps, but the foam board gives you that solid coverage where it matters most. Really glad to hear your floors are feeling warmer now, that drafty floor feeling is the worst.
