That whole 'food court fountain as a wishing well' thing drives me nuts in abandoned malls

I see people posting pics all the time of coins they found in the old fountains at places like the Monroeville Mall, calling it 'lucky money' or whatever. But half those coins are just trash left by the mall workers before it closed, not some magical treasure. It tells you more about how messy the cleanout was than anything cool. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just being grumpy about it lol.

Wait, have you heard what happened to my buddy Mark? He thought he'd be a hero and clean out the one at his grandma's cabin. He didn't realize the thing had been sitting for like 5 years. He opened it up and this thick, black sludge just oozed out and got all over his new sneakers. Then a bunch of moths flew out and he screamed like a little kid. He had to throw the shoes away and his grandma still brings it up at every family dinner lol.
