Got caught without a backup light in the abandoned mall last night
My main flashlight died halfway through the lower level. I had my phone, but the battery was almost gone. I recalled the exact path to the exit from visiting with my mom when I was young. Using those old memories, I felt my way out, thinking about how loud and full this silent place used to be.

It's weird how darkness can make old memories sharper. Were you able to picture the old store layouts when you couldn't see?

Yeah, I mean I'd probably just remember the exact spot I tripped over a loose tile last time. My memory is not that helpful.
