inOur book club read a travel memoir before my trip to Japan, and now we're split.
That happens with any book or movie about a place. Reality never matches the polished version someone writes about.

inWatching my dad try to debate time travel paradoxes with my niece's hologram tutor last Christmas really highlighted how casual these talks have become.
My own tech is so old I tried to explain the grandfather paradox using a busted overhead projector. Had to draw the timeline on a napkin when the transparency jammed. Pretty sure I accidentally argued for a version where you just make the projector disappear.

inPSA for food service crews: always date the prep containers. We had to trash a full pan of chicken salad cause no one wrote the date.
Training staff to trust their senses with daily checks could prevent a lot of good food from getting tossed. It comes down to having a crew that's alert and can make smart calls on the spot. Dates are useful, but they shouldn't override common sense when something still looks and smells okay.

inAm I the only one who finds the new quick-dry top coats still tacky after curing?
No kidding, it turns a good polish job into a gummy mess. My own lack of patience probably doesn't help, but that's the whole point of a quick dry, right? I'll sit there waving my hands around like an idiot, only to have every cat hair in the county stuck to my nails. Kind of defeats the purpose if you have to wipe it again anyway.

inMy combs started cracking from too much barbicide
Ever put a cheap comb in barbicide and seen it warp? I had some combs turn cloudy and brittle, but my good acetate ones stayed fine. The softer plastics seem to soak up the solution and get messed up faster. So yeah, the type definitely matters from what I've seen.
