Seriously, my friend's office wasted so much on real plants that just died. They had a fancy ficus in the lobby that dropped leaves all over the client chairs. After the fourth one gave up, @hill.andrew's point about no upkeep finally got through to them. They swapped to silk arrangements that look real from a distance. No one waters them, and they always look fine. It saved them from constant replanting and messy cleanups.
