My $8 thrift store VHS tape became a 6-hour memory trip last Sunday

Ngl, I found this old 1994 recording of a local news broadcast from Cleveland at a Goodwill for 8 bucks. I popped it in expecting static, but it had full coverage of a snowstorm that shut down the whole city, including my old street. Watching the anchor mention my dad's hardware store at the 12:00 mark felt like a time machine. Anyone else ever stumbled on a random tape that brought back a whole specific day like that?

Guess the tape was cheaper than a therapy session, huh? At least your family got a shoutout, mine would've been the pawn shop three blocks over. Now I'm tempted to raid every thrift store in Ohio for a chance at my own 15 minutes of grainy TV fame.
