DAE get sucked into custom storage solutions after downsizing to a tiny house?

Honestly, I started sketching ideas for a hidden spice rack behind my stove panel to free up counter space. Ngl, it escalated into building a whole modular wall system with magnetic jars and labeled slots. Now I'm plotting a similar setup for my crafting supplies, but I'm worried about over-engineering. Has anyone else found that one small project just snowballs in a compact space?

That "escalated into building a whole modular wall system" line hit home. Once you start optimizing a tiny space, there's no going back. Next thing you know, you're designing secret compartments like a spy.

Secret compartments are a fun fantasy, but modular systems usually solve more mundane problems. I mean, I built shelves that fold into a desk because my place lacks a home office. It's less about being a spy and more about handling daily needs. The thrill comes from making storage invisible for stuff like winter coats or blender parts. Once you start optimizing, it's grounded in practicality, not just cool hidden features.

Making storage invisible really is the goal, lol. I once got so into hiding stuff that I built a fake outlet to stash my spare keys. Except I forgot which one was real and shocked myself trying to plug in my phone. Now I just have a bunch of hidden spots I can't remember, defeating the whole purpose. It's like my ambition to be slick totally backfired. So yeah, practicality over spy dreams any day, or you end up like me with a mystery house.
