My local bookstore's sci-fi section is shrinking every year

I used to find new space epics every month, but now it's all reprints of old classics.

You know, I've noticed fantasy taking over more shelf space lately too. But my local spot still gets new sci-fi, it's just tucked between the fantasy and graphic novels now. Maybe it's less about disappearing and more about how genres shift around over the years.

Check what kind of fantasy books are filling that space? Are we talking big Tolkien-style series or something newer?

When you say genres shift around, what do you see actually taking sci-fi's place on the main shelves these days?
