The time I found EarthBound while helping a friend move
I was helping my friend clean out their old room when we uncovered a box of SNES games. They were about to donate it, but I spotted EarthBound in mint condition, and the look on their face when I told them its worth was priceless.

Honestly, when you mentioned donating it without a thought, I totally get that because I was the same way. I used to see old games as just clutter, especially after the SNES era passed. But then I read about EarthBound's crazy cult following and how it bombed at launch but now commands insane prices. Like, I remember my cousin found a copy at a garage sale for five bucks and sold it online for over two hundred. That kind of thing makes you start checking every box before tossing anything. Now I can't help but scrutinize old game collections whenever I see them.

Actually EarthBound didn't totally bomb at launch, it just had weird marketing. The price thing came later when people realized how good it was.
