Hot take: I thought reality TV arguments just happened until a past winner did a podcast.
Listening to how producers set up those big fights turned my whole view around. Do you find yourself looking for the strings now?

Hearing how producers set up fights makes me see the same staging in ads and social media now.

Wait, you're totally right and it's actually crazy once you see it. Like those family fights over which phone plan to get that just happen to show the brand name perfectly. It's all so fake and set up lol. Once you know how they make reality TV fights, you spot the same fake angry voices in ads for paper towels or whatever. It completely wrecks the fun of any drama when you know they're just reading lines. Makes me side-eye every "heated" tweet from a brand now too, it's all the same junk.

Yeah @sandra486, that point about staged fights leaking into ads is spot on. It's like every bit of drama online is just a setup to sell stuff. I notice it in unboxing videos where people fake shock over some new gadget, or when brands on twitter have those fake arguments that go viral. It all feels so cheap once you know the trick. Even friend groups on instagram suddenly having a "heated" talk about a product just feels off now. The whole internet feels like one big ad with bad acting.
