PSA: Polyurethane turned cloudy in my humid shop last night
I was finishing a table and applied polyurethane as usual. Woke up to a cloudy finish, and I read online that high humidity causes this. Now I'm using a dehumidifier before any top coats.

Had the same thing happen with spray paint last summer.

Did you notice if the heat made it worse? I had a can get all weird and watery because it was sitting in the sun, something about the pressure changing I guess. It totally messed up my project and just went on in a thin, runny layer. Took me a while to figure out it wasn't the paint, it was just too hot outside.

My garage got so hot in July the nozzle on my Montana Gold can started spitting... it was like 95 in there. The paint came out all separated and watery, no pigment at all. I had to shake it for like five solid minutes between each coat. Totally ruined a skateboard deck I was working on.
