That unlabeled container from 3 summers ago made me quit leftovers cold turkey
So back in June 2021 I found a plastic container shoved behind the crisper drawer with no lid and something brown and fuzzy growing out of it. I mean, I sniffed it once and my eyes watered instantly, so I just threw the whole thing in the outdoor bin without ever knowing what it used to be. That happened right before I moved out of my apartment on Maple Street, and now I get a little jumpy whenever I see any container without a label in my current fridge. Has anyone else had a mystery item ruin leftovers for them permanently, or am I just being weird about this?

Is a fuzzy container really worth giving up all leftovers forever? I mean, you said it yourself, you had no idea what it was and it sat there for who knows how long. That's not a normal leftover situation, that's a science experiment. I've had bad stuff in my fridge too, but I just toss it and move on with my life. Seems like you're letting one gross moment run your whole kitchen routine, which is a lot of power for some old leftovers. Maybe just get some masking tape and a marker, label your stuff, and you're good.
