PSA: I thought taping seams was a waste of time on click-lock floors...

Had a big living room job with that new wide-plank laminate last week... The boards felt super tight during the dry fit, so I figured why bother with tape between rows... Well, halfway through, I noticed a tiny gap starting to open up near the wall... By the end of the day, that gap had walked all the way across the room... Spent hours trying to fix it without taking everything apart... My buddy came by and just shook his head, saying he always tapes every few feet to keep things aligned... Tried it on the next section and it went together perfectly with no creep at all... Now I keep a roll of blue tape in my kit even for the easy-looking installs...

Actually, tape each row, not just every few feet.

You learn that the hard way too? Taping each row is a pain but it saves you from bigger headaches later.

Ever try to skip a row just to see what happens? I did that once and let's just say @hayden_scott is right, my floor looked like a toddler's puzzle. Honestly thought I could outsmart the instructions and saved maybe five minutes, then spent an hour fixing a weird bump. Taping each row is one of those things you only mess up once.
