Had to choose between a 30-day close or waiting for a better rate lock

Went with the fast close to secure the property in Austin. Anyone have tips for smoothing out the appraisal rush on a tight timeline?

I saw a deal fall apart last week over a 21 day close, so yeah it can get tight.

A 21 day close is a horror story waiting to happen. That's barely enough time to get the paperwork in order, let alone handle any surprises. I'm not surprised that deal fell apart.
