A tailor in Savannah changed how I think about pockets

I was getting a pair of trousers altered, and the tailor pointed out that my phone was wearing a hole in the pocket lining. She said, 'Designers forget pockets are for holding things, not just for looks.' It made me wonder, how do you balance function with a clean silhouette in your designs?

Yeah, it's like that with so much stuff now, form over function.

Consider how many apps update their interface but become harder to use. The focus on a clean look often hides the buttons you need. It feels like we're all beta testing style choices for them.

Remember when updates were supposed to make things better? Now I spend ten minutes just trying to find the settings menu they hid in a secret swipe gesture. It's like they're playing a prank on us for wanting to actually use the app.
